Global Academy of Technology, a premier institute in the city of Bangalore, celebrated its 14th graduation day on 15th June 2018, Friday, Shubh Prasthaanam – Bidding farewell to the 2014 – 18 batch engineering students and 2016 – 18 MBA/M.Tech students. It is that time of the year when yet another batch of students, prepare to leave the portals of this esteemed institution. “Graduation is not the end; It’s the beginning”.
The function started with the Academic Procession in which The Principal Dr. N Ranapratap Reddy, Secretary Sri. S.Lepaksha, Additional Secretary Sri. Venkatappa, the Chief Guest of the day Dr. M K Ramesh and the awardees were present in the graduation march.

After the procession, the formal function was started with the Invocation by Mr. Suhas. S, 6thsem Mechanical Department.

The Principal delivered the welcome address and briefed the significance of the day’s event. Sir proudly said GAT celebrates three festivals every year.
1. Shubh Arambam on August 1st when we invite new batch of students.
2. Ganesha festival, where students enjoy the presence of lord ganesha in the campus during 1st or 3rd week of September.
3. Shubh Prasthaanam bidding farewell to the outgoing students during 2nd or 3rd week of June.
Principal welcomed D K Shivakumar – Chairman NEF in his absencia,  President of the function Sri. S Lepaksha- Secretary NEF, Chief Guest Dr M K Ramesh – Professor of Law, Chair Professor (Urban Poor and the Law) National Law School of India University, Bengaluru, Sri. Venkatappa – Additional Secretary NEF, Ms. Aisshwarya D K S – Trustees NEF Schools, Faculties and Staff of GAT, Graduating students and Parent community.
Principal explained the graduating students, the problems of 21st century viz Health, Drinking water, Energy & Agriculture and challenged students to contribute towards these areas for the betterment of the society.
Light – and brightness – represents the positive, the good and the good spirits. The lamp also shows everyone who is present how to rise upwards and dispel darkness – Lamp lighting by all dignitaries.

Ms. Siri Yadav from 4th Sem, CSE has raised a toast for the graduating seniors and seniors accepted the toast.

The Chief Guest Dr. M. K. Ramesh, Professor of Law, Chair Professor (Urban Poor and the Law), National Law School of India University, Bengaluru has delivered the Graduation Day address.
Having over a 37 years of experience as a Law teacher, with areas specialisations including International Law, Human Rights Law, Environmental Law and Natural Resources Management Law (-Land and Water),
He is the founder of three Centres of Excellence in National Law School of India University namely, Centre for Environmental Law Education Research and Advocacy (CEERA-1997), Commons Cell (2009) and Environmental Law Clinic(2012). He is Adjunct Professor in Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur (2010-2014); Visiting Professor, KTH, Stockholm(2009-2014);Visiting Professor, Law School, Zurich (2010-11);Visiting Professor, Dalhousie Law School, Canada (1998);Visiting Professor,Law School, Warwick, UK(1996);Associated in Teaching the Course on Environmental Justice at Pace Law School, White Plains, U.S.

The text of his speech is as follows:
“Nothing should stop the SPIRIT OF STUDENTS and the same should be the SPIRIT OF INDIA. It gives me great pleasure to be here on the Graduation Day of Global Academy of Technology. At the outset, let me congratulate all of you who are graduating today for their academic performance and the faculty members for shaping the young minds. It is a very auspicious event – Day of celebration, celebration of achievement of both students and parents. Let me add a word of special appreciation to those who are receiving outgoing student’s awards. You should celebrate this moment, as your academic efforts have come to a successful fruition. I must also congratulate the Management of the Institution on the initiative they have taken to give to the society an institution which is truly focused on quality higher education. It is indeed unusual. They deserve all praise.
The journey of University to the Universe must be Momentous. Experience in the academics should make the students a better person. Always think out of box and success comes to you” Trustees of NEF and Principal felicitated the chief guest. It’s time for all graduating students to take an oath for serving this society and the nation with the skills they have imbibed as an engineer from this institute. The oath taking was led by Ms. Ankitha Venkappa of 8thSem EEE.
The Oath is
“On this august occasion of Shubh Prasthaanam, On the eve of my leaving the portals of the institute and entering the profession of engineers and managers. I _______________________________ solemnly pledge that Honesty, sincerity and hard work shall be the cherished values of my life.
The motto of GLOBAL ACADEMY OF TECHNOLOGY Namely Growing Ahead of Time, Shall be the guiding principle of my life. I shall endeavour to the best of my ability to be worthy Of my institute and my profession and I shall always place my country above self.”
Prof. R.Mageshwaran, Director, Training & Placement announced the awardees under various categories, the dignitaries have done the honours to the students. The best outgoing student award for 2018 was conferred upon Ms. Sahithi. A, from Electronics and Communication Engineering department for her overall outstanding performance in Academics, Co-Curricular, Extra-Curricular Activities and in Placements.

Faculties of GAT have been tremendously contributing in the field of Research & development, and as a result of it, Institute has come up with GAT research Bulletin, which reflects their R&D work. The dignitaries released the Research bulletin.

Dr. C V Srinivasa HoD Civil had delivered the vote of Thanks. The function ended with the National Anthem. The graduating students, parents, guests, invitees, academic fraternity participated in the fellowship dinner. “Without your involvement you can’t succeed. With your involvement you can’t fail”
