- Ph.D. in Physics, Indian Institute of Technology Madras, Chennai
- M.Sc. in Physics, MS University, Tirunelveli
Dr. Jaffino Stargen D is a theoretical physicist who completed his Ph.D. on semi-classical aspects of gravity at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras, Chennai. After his Ph.D., he pursued PostDoctoral research at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Cambridge, USA; Indian Institute of Science Education & Research (IISER) Mohali, Punjab; Chennai Mathematical Institute, Siruseri, Chennai; and Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay, Mumbai. Dr. Stargen’s current research lies at the intersection of gravity and quantum mechanics. His work primarily explores near-horizon black hole physics through the study of quantum fields in non-inertial frames. He has made significant contributions to understanding the Unruh effect, quantization schemes, and the small-scale structure of spacetimes. Alongside research, he is deeply committed to teaching and mentoring students on research-driven projects. Beyond academics, he has a keen interest in the history of science and its role in shaping human civilization.
